The Restaurant Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and quality products to ensure our customers enjoy coming to the Ashcroft Travel Centre.


Key Functions (Main aspects of position)

  • Provide individualized, friendly, helpful and courteous customer service
  • Prepare food and beverages carefully and efficiently
  • Accept payments in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and well stocked environment
  • Ensure products and services sold are up to the standards and expectations of management and customers
  • Specific activities may include:
    • Opening the restaurant
    • Closing the restaurant
    • Counting and balancing tills
    • Welcoming and building relationships with customers
    • Preparing, packaging and storing food and beverage items
    • Cleaning the restaurant, bathrooms, kitchen, appliances, utensils, trays, crockery, and cutlery
    • Disposing of trash
    • Stocking and restocking food and beverage ingredients
    • Counting inventory
  • Other related duties as required


Requirements for Competency

  • Previous experience accepting payment through point of sale device
  • Knowledge of BC considered an asset
  • Good cash handling skills
  • Proven strong customer service skills
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and stock shelves
  • Able to follow directions
  • Excellent ethics
  • Responsible
  • Team player
  • Food Safety Certificate considered an asset
  • First Aid Level 1 considered an asset
  • Open availability to work, including weekends

Starting wage $16.00 per hour (negotiable with experience) Raise and Benefits after 3 months
