Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an Operations Manager. This position will report to General Manager and will be based out of our Cache Creek, BC site office, working closely with both the on-site staff in Cache Creek as well as our staff in the Kamloops office and our Lower Mainland, BC office.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operations and be the primary point of contact at the Site.
  • Monitor, track, and report on conditions to ensure compliance with contracts, government regulations, and guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for various site activities.
  • Conduct quality reviews and reviews of transactional data as needed.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to our current operational procedures.
  • Assist with oversight of civil / capital design and construction works at the Site.
  • Manage the request for proposal (RFP) processes including the creation and development of contracts, specifications, etc.
  • Communicate and report any potential inefficiencies or non-compliance issues to the leadership team, with a strong focus on providing suggestions and solutions.
  • Correspond with contractors, site visitors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to purchasing, document management, and quality management.
  • Travel to Kamloops and the Lower Mainland on occasion for site visits and meetings at customer and vendor locations as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, supplemented with relevant post-secondary education in a technical field.
  • Five years minimum of operational management experience
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and apply common reasoning to decision making
  • Ability to negotiate the best value for money spent with services providers and vendors
  • Effective verbal, listening and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
