Welcome to Ashcroft, our picturesque oasis nestled along the riverbank of the mighty Thompson River that boasts an abundance of clean air, fresh water, ample hiking trails and locally produced foods. We celebrate four distinct seasons and are often the hotspot for BC and Canada during the summer months. Our winters are relatively mild which make winter sports a favourite past time with the locals.

Spring brings the beauty of flowering plants, from the distinct Prickly Pear Cactus to fruit trees and shrubs, which make the community come alive with colour.

Summer brings the warmer weather with temperatures into the 30’s Celsius and the longer evenings create the perfect setting for enjoying life outdoors. Camping, swimming, fishing, and hiking are a few of the activities locals and visitors enjoy during the summer months.

Fall brings the cooler evenings but is still wonderful and warm throughout the day. The trees begin their transition to their fall palette, the salmon begin their long journey north and the farm markets are bursting with produce for winter storage.

The community has a rich history that played an important role during the gold rush days and the development of the interior of the province. Our museum is considered one of the best in BC and the walking tours of the downtown area provide a wealth of information on various historic buildings and some of their former residents. Ashcroft offers a variety of recreational activities and special events and is only 3 minutes off of the Trans Canada, we invite you to come down and discover all we have to offer.
