Monette Produce is an innovative and fast-growing vegetable farm located in Cache Creek, BC. We are committed to sustainable agriculture, high-quality crop production, and supporting the next generation of farm leaders. Our operation spans both organic and conventional systems, giving students a broad and practical agricultural experience.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Summer Intern interested in pursuing a career in agriculture or farm management. This hands-on role offers students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in crop production, crew supervision, and operational planning. Interns will work closely with our Farm Manager and Crop Management Team to learn all aspects of commercial vegetable farming.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day field operations including planting, irrigation, crop monitoring, and harvest
- Learn to manage and lead small field crews for specific tasks
- Participate in planning and logistics meetings with the operations team
- Support data collection on crop performance, pest scouting, and field mapping
- Observe and assist in equipment operation and basic maintenance tasks
- Gain exposure to food safety protocols and compliance procedures
- Help track labor activities and workflow efficiency
- Engage in post-harvest quality assessments and packing line support
- Receive mentorship in leadership, planning, and problem-solving on the farm
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently enrolled in an agriculture, plant science, environmental science, agribusiness, or related post-secondary program
- Strong interest in vegetable farming, crop production, or farm management
- Willingness to work outdoors in variable conditions
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and take initiative
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license is an asset
Eligibility:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be returning to post-secondary education in the fall (in accordance with student employment programs)
- Ability to apply for BC summer student in agriculture bursary (up to an additional $3000)

Position Details
- Full-time seasonal, 40 hours per week minimum
- Wage: $18-22/hr
- Monday to Friday, weekends as needed
- Location: Cache Creek, BC.
