JOB TITLE: Full-time pastor for Sage Hills Evangelical Free Church

CHURCH OVERVIEW: Established in 1969, we are a small, rural, multicultural Church in Ashcroft,

B.C., averaging 50-60 attendees in weekly Sunday services. Our congregation is composed of

people from Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Clinton, and other surrounding areas. We are committed to

the authority of Scripture, the centrality of the gospel, and living out our faith in practical ways

within our community. We value authentic relationships, biblical teaching, and compassionate

pastoral care. (Our Church consists of approximately 20 members, with more in the process of

applying.)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• A personal commitment to Jesus Christ, submitting to the Bible as his authority for faith

and life, and modelling Christlike character by demonstrating high integrity and an

exemplary moral life

• Ability to communicate vision, build relationships, work collaboratively with church

leadership teams, resolve conflict, and provide effective communication and guidance

• A sound Biblical education and theological understanding of EFCCs church doctrine,

including the Statement of Faith (https://efcc.ca/statement-of-faith/), Character and

Calling (https://efcc.ca/character-and-calling/), and Code of Conduct

(https://efcc.ca/covenant-of-ethics/) of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada.

• Self-motivation and effective time-management to balance home life, work life, and

community outreach

• Flexibility to accommodate the needs of the congregation

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

• Experience in a rural setting

• Experience with multi-cultural communities

• A servant-hearted approach to serving

• Humble, dependable and emotionally secure

• A minimum of 5 years of ministry experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and deliver sermons to meet the spiritual and special needs of the church

community.

• Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual support to individuals and families

• Provide spiritual leadership in church committees, Bible studies, small groups and

discipleship programs

• Provide visionary and moral leadership, promoting spiritual growth, leading in worship

and prayer, and equipping the congregation for ministry

• Oversee church operations, including financial stewardship, develop and implement

policies, and ensure the mission and vision are carried out

• Lead and encourage both local and global mission work

• Participate in Community events that provide opportunities to share the message of

Christ and love

WHAT WE OFFER:

• Salary commensurate with EFCC Salary Guidelines (see attachment)

• Other compensations and benefits listed will be negotiable through our budget
