Job Title: Swim Instructor – Outdoor Pool 
Job Type: Seasonal (Spring/Summer) 
Swim Instructor / Lifeguard – Ashcroft Pool 
The Village of Ashcroft is seeking one certified Swim Instructors for the 2026 summer season. 

Employment Term: 
Saturday, May 16, 2026 – Sunday, September 6, 2026 

Position Overview: 
The Swim Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and effective swim lessons to participants of various ages and abilities. This role also includes full lifeguard duties to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all pool patrons. 
Duties include instructing lessons, supervising the pool area, responding to emergencies, enforcing pool rules, providing first aid, performing basic pool maintenance (including chemical testing and cleaning), janitorial services, and assisting with concession services such as admissions, sales, and swim lesson registration. Work may be performed in various weather conditions. 

Qualifications: 

•    Current National Lifeguard (NL) Pool Certification
•    Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor Certification
•    CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
•    Strong swimming ability and communication skills
•    Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
•    Previous swim instruction experience is an asset

Compensation & Benefits:

•    $24.06 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation and $1.25/hour in lieu of benefits (upon completion of probation). Wages are currently under collective bargaining and subject to change.
•    CUPE Local 900 full-time position (35+ hours) with recall rights after probation
