North-Wood Environmental Services (NWES) is a leading environmental contracting company providing exceptional environmental services to our clients.

We are looking for personable, hard-working, and physically capable persons to join us as an Equipment Operator at our Solid Waste Eco Depots.

Location: Clinton, BC

You will be reporting directly to the area Supervisor.

Duties include:

• Safe and efficient operations of a variety of heavy equipment like backhoes & skid steers
• Performs daily safety and maintenance checks including oil fluids, greasing and reporting / tracking
• Carry out their regular duties associated with processing loads of municipal solid waste, DRC and recycling including assisting customers with guidance, handling small appliances and recyclable materials
• Ensuring all visitors follow our policies and procedures
• Able work in a variety of different weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
• Other duties as required including, but not limited to, assisting other team members for a clean and organized work site while ensuring process flow and safe operations

Qualifications:

• 2 Years experience operating various heavy equipment
• Work experience with multiple different waste streams, recycling, or environmental service industry an asset, however not required
• Customer service experience
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving
• Be a team player and contribute where needed

Full time position available minimum 4 days per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday). Coverage is important and opportunities for working within surrounding area Eco Depots are available.

Salary: $24.77/hr

After three months of continuous employment, you have the option to join our full Medical and Dental benefits package and RRSP matching program.
