Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate veterinary team. This role provides vital support in delivering high-quality care to animals and assisting veterinarians with various clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, caring, and eager to learn about animal health and laboratory procedures. Prior laboratory experience is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated individuals committed to animal welfare and professional growth.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and treatment supplies
• Collect samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for laboratory testing
• Perform basic laboratory procedures and record keeping of test results
• Administer medications and vaccines under supervision
• Provide compassionate care by feeding, bathing, and observing animals’ behavior and health status
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and medical equipment
• Support administrative tasks including appointment scheduling and client communication

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional veterinary or laboratory experience is preferred
• Strong interest in animal health and welfare
• Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude toward animals and clients
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Laboratory experience is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn new skills is essential
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or supplies
• Prior experience working with animals or in a veterinary setting is a plus but not required

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
