Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Mixed Animal Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality care to Large and Small animals, ensuring their well-being and comfort. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills and experience can make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Prior laboratory experience is preferred, as it will enhance your ability to perform diagnostic tests and support clinical procedures effectively.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
• Prepare animals for treatments and surgeries, including restraining and administering medications
• Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, or tissue specimens
• We have brand new IDEXX machines to run blood samples and radiographs
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and administering treatments as directed
• Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and general health tips
• Maintain detailed medical records for all patients in compliance with clinic protocols

Requirements

• Proven experience or background in a veterinary setting; laboratory experience is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary procedures
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for animal health and welfare
• Certification or licensing as a Veterinary Technician is preferred but not mandatory depending on regional requirements

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$31.00 per hour
