About the Opportunity
The District is seeking a motivated and experienced Golf Course & Events Manager to join our team. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a creative vision to help elevate Logan Lake into a premier outdoor destination in British Columbia.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, this role provides strategic leadership in the management and operation of the Meadow Creek Golf Course (seasonal), while also leading the planning and delivery of municipal events, tourism initiatives, and outdoor recreation programs.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee all aspects of golf course operations, including pro shop services, tee time scheduling, customer experience, and event bookings
- Ensure efficient, customer-focused, and financially sustainable operations
- Exercise independent decision-making in daily operations and service delivery
Greenspace & Golf Course Coordination
- Liaise with the Director of Public Works on greenskeeping practices, turf management, and integration with municipal parks standards
Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets
- Monitor revenues, expenditures, and cost controls
- Implement strategies to improve financial performance and service delivery
Leadership
- Supervise staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Participate in labour relations planning and negotiations
- Foster a safe, positive, and productive workplace
Municipal Events & Programming
- Lead the planning and delivery of community events such as Canada Day, Remembrance Day, Polar Carnival, and other events
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, community groups, and stakeholders
Tourism & Marketing
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for golf operations, events, and tourism
- Create recreation guides, digital content, and promotional materials
Facility & Equipment Oversight
- Manage facilities, equipment, and supplies
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and all applicable regulations
Contract & Vendor Coordination
- Oversee contractors and service providers
- Support procurement and monitor performance
Visitor Centre & Campground Support
- Assist with campground and visitor centre operations during peak seasons
Strategic & Organizational Support
- Contribute to departmental planning, policy development, and service improvements
Qualifications
- Management experience in golf operations, hospitality, recreation, or related field
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline (preferred)
- Experience planning and executing events (small and large scale)
- Local government experience (asset)
- Strong leadership, financial management, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and graphic design tools
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Valid BC Driver’s License
