Lifeguard – Ashcroft Pool (2026 Season)

The Village of Ashcroft is seeking multiple certified Lifeguards to join our team for the 2026 summer season. If you are enthusiastic about water safety, enjoy working with the public, and thrive in an outdoor environment, we encourage you to apply!

Saturday, May 16, 2026 – Sunday, September 6, 2026


Position Overview

Lifeguards play a vital role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all pool patrons. This position involves active supervision, emergency response, and supporting the overall operations of the outdoor pool.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring pool activities to ensure patron safety
  • Responding to emergencies and providing first aid as required
  • Enforcing pool rules and maintaining a safe environment
  • Performing basic pool maintenance, including chemical testing and cleaning
  • Completing janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness of the facility
  • Assisting with concession services such as admissions, retail sales, and swim lesson registration
  • Working in a variety of outdoor weather conditions

Qualifications

  • Current National Lifeguard (NL) – Pool Certification
  • Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
  • Strong swimming ability and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Previous lifeguarding experience is considered an asset

Compensation & Benefits

  • $21.87 per hour, plus:
    • 4% in lieu of vacation
    • $1.25/hour in lieu of benefits (upon completion of probation)
  • Wages are currently under collective bargaining and subject to change
  • CUPE Local 900 full-time position (35+ hours/week) with recall rights after probation
  • Supportive, team-oriented work environment
