YELLOWHEAD COMMUNITY SERVICES Transit Driver - (Casual) Ashcroft

We are currently seeking a Casual Transit Driver to join our team in Ashcroft.

$24.71 to $26.74.

 Key Duties:

 • Drive transit vehicles to transport passengers on regular fixed routes, door to door service, and Special Transit Trip requests.

• Provide route information to transit passengers and collection of fares.

• Assist elderly passengers and persons with disabilities with loading/unloading, and securement of wheelchairs within established safety procedures.

• Maintain records and makes reports as required. • Inspect vehicles and performs pre-operation, during operation, and post-operation checks.

• Complete daily routine cleaning as per checklist of interior and exterior of transit vehicles.

Hours of Work Shifts will typically take place between the hours of 7:45am to 6:00pm, Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday, providing transportation services between Ashcroft and Clinton.

A component of this system takes riders to Kamloops and 100 Mile House. Additional hours may be available depending on Special Transit Trip requests.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education is required.
• Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience operating a commercial vehicle and/or providing passenger transportation services.
• Any offers of employment will be subject to a clean Criminal Record Check.
• A Class 1, 2 or Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License and acceptable Commercial Driver’s Abstract.

Compensation Rate of pay for this position is dependent on a combination of education and/or experience and ranges from $24.71 to $26.74.
