Hours of the Day: Flexible but early mornings are required for milking starting at roughly 4 AM.

We are seeking a dedicated Farm Labourer to join our agricultural team. This role involves supporting daily farm operations, maintaining equipment, and assisting with crop production activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn about various farming techniques and machinery. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in horticulture and farm maintenance within a dynamic agricultural environment.

Duties

• Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops according to seasonal schedules
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
• Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems and farm equipment
• Use hand tools for various tasks such as pruning, planting, and repairs
• Conduct heavy lifting of supplies, plants, or harvested produce as needed
• Support general farm maintenance including cleaning, repairs, and equipment checks
• Follow safety protocols during all activities to ensure a safe working environment
• Assist with soil preparation, fertilization, and pest control activities as directed

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of horticulture practices and farm maintenance preferred
• Experience with irrigation systems and farm machinery is a plus
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely
• Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
• Strong physical stamina capable of heavy lifting and long hours of manual work
• Basic math skills for measurements and record keeping
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team
