Interpreters are responsible for the daily upkeep and presentation of the Roadhouse and its operation. You will deliver daily tours, programs, and special events at Historic Hat Creek Ranch. 

Specific Duties

• Provide guided tours and demonstrations to individuals and groups
• Assist in maintaining the heritage buildings through daily cleaning and dusting
• Set up and put away program materials as required 
• Feed and water animals on heritage site
• Clean animal pens as required 
• Support the safety and security of visitors as well as artifacts and displays
• Assist guests with loading/unloading of stagecoach 
• Work alongside volunteers
• Adhere to costume policy and maintain costume cleaning and repair

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and guest service oriented 
• Possess an interest in history and museum practices 
• Experience speaking engagingly, clearly, and audibly to large groups of people
• Willingness to wear Victorian era costumes
• Available to work a non -standard week 
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset 
• Ability to successfully pass and maintain a criminal/police record check
